GOSANET Foundation holds health screening on Good Deeds Day
GOSANET Foundation in collaboration with Ghana Aids Commission Technical Support Unit-Volta, Ghana HIV/AIDS Network (GHANET), Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health and Ho Municipal Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service marked Good Deeds Day 2018 with health talks and screening at Akoefe Global Evangelical Church in the Ho Municipality.
Good Deeds day is a global day that unites people from 100 countries to do good deeds for the benefit of others. Since 2007 millions of communities, organizations and businesses join together every year to volunteer and do good.
In all, about 165 people were screened for blood sugar levels, blood pressure, HIV/AIDS as well as weight and height checks.
Commenting on the rationale behind the exercise, Executive Director of GOSANET Foundation, Mr. Samuel Atidzah, said the aim of the medical checkup was to create a convenient avenue for the people in the community to check their health conditions so that they can receive the right medical attention or referred if necessary.
He also expressed his excitement about the turnout and promised to revisit the community in order to screen those that are left out.
In an interview, Head Pastor of Akoefe Global Evangelical Church, Rev Abraham Ahadzi commended GOSANET Foundation and its partners for the kind gesture.
He also used the opportunity and appeal to GOSANET Foundation to fulfill his promise and revisit the community since most of them have limited time for these checkups due to farming activities.
